DANCE
I started my dance training in ballet at the age of four,
attending Joffrey Ballet’s intensive training at the age of ten. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Dance and Performance Studies and was a principal dancer for Bay Area
Repertory Dance Company, performing in works such as Paul Taylor’s Esplanade, and Jose Limon’s A Choreographic Offering. In May 2002, I was selected to
perform a leading role in Benjamin Levy’s portal
at the National College Dance Festival held at Kennedy Center. I am currently a principal dance for CPAA,
Chinese Performing Artists of America and have danced lead roles in dance dramas
such as Yellow River and Butterfly Lovers.
I am currently a dance instructor at Yao Yong Dance and Acme Education Group. i have been teaching for over 10 years. I teach ballet, Chinese Dance, and Modern to students of all ages, ranging from 4 years old to adult. I have also taught at various other dance schools, including Academy of Chinese Performing Artists (ACPA) and China Dance. I have previously taught and put on performances at Friends of Children With Special Needs (FCSN) for children with special needs and at The International School of the Peninsula.
